Training Topics:  Intensives

If your organisation is interested in approaching me for an intensive, please review the descriptions below of the four day intensive topics. Participant numbers for intensives are limited to 15 in order to maximise skills, integration and practice. The descriptions of the intensives are general because the clinical focus/themes are shaped by the participants' work interests and experience.

Talk That Sings: introducing narrative solutions with heart

A four day intensive.

In this workshop we will focus on developing the foundational skills that will assist practitioners to create change-orientated conversations with children, young people, families, individuals and couples.  You will become familiar with the following:
  • Inviting people to participate in the discovery process.
  • Orientating the conversation toward change-making possibilities.
  • Highlighting resources that make a difference.
  • Developing solutions with people.
  • Practising change in order to make the change.

Advancing Therapeutic Conversations

A four day intensive.

The ‘Advancing Therapeutic Conversations’ workshop is orientated toward enhancing participants therapeutic skills. Consequently, people can and have attended this workshop many times with the intention of extending and developing particular therapeutic practices in a safe environment.

Participants will become familiar with the following:
  • Discovering new possibilities through a focus on present-moment experience.
  • Creating the experience of movement and thus change through the therapeutic   conversation.
  • Exposing the binary positions that trap people within pathologising narratives.
  • Negotiating ethical positions with people (clients), e.g. therapeutic relationship boundaries.
  • Working with stuck places in the therapy.
